Adieu...

I remember my grandma peters babysat me every day when i was a preschooler while my mother went off to work to put my dad through school. I remember sometimes she would send me to wake up auntie mona if she ever slept in too late, she would put the record on and dance "the chicken dance" whenever i asked her to. I would tag along at times when she brought lunch to grampa and my uncles out on the field. She made the best vareniky and schmont fat served with farmer sausage, and it was at her house i learned to eat them all with a liberal amount of ketchup. I have fond memories of matching christmas presents from grandma for the three of us oldest granddaughters, of family gatherings on the front grass or weekends at the beach staying in cabins, which i thought was so luxurious, of fried chicken on Mother's Day and Pic-a-Pop in a glass bottle. I shared a love of knitting and crochet with grandma and would often ask her how to sort out my tangled mess. Grandma was a lovely lady indeed and she will be greatly missed by her family. I'm sad not to have been able to say a last farewell in person before she left on her final journey to the King. It will be strange to return home and find you gone. I'll miss you...
